The Board of the International Fund for Ireland is appointed jointly by the British and Irish Governments. The current Board Members are:

Dr Denis Rooney CBE, Chairman

Dr Rooney succeeded Mr McCarter as Chairman of the Fund on 4 March 2005 and was reappointed on 1 March 2009.

Dr Rooney is a former Chairman and Chief Executive of White Young Green. He has extensive experience in dealing with cross-community and cross-border issues in Northern Ireland and the southern border counties and holds or has held many national and international positions including: Chairman of the Institute of Directors Northern Ireland; Member of the Northern Ireland Economic Development Forum; Member of the Bank of England Advisory Committee for Northern Ireland; Member of the Northern Ireland Committee for the Integrated Education Fund; and non-Executive Director of the Strategic Investment Board.

Mrs Anne Henderson

Mrs Henderson is Vice Chair of the Northern Ireland Housing Executive. She is a former Director of Business Consultancy at BDO Stoy Hayward in Belfast. She has also previously worked as an international auditor for Time Warner Inc in Los Angeles and for KPMG in Belfast. Mrs Henderson was first appointed to the Board on 1 March 2006 and reappointed on 1 March 2009.

Ms Mary Southwell

Ms Southwell is an independent Human Resources Management Consultant based in Dublin. She works with a diverse range of clients and a wide variety of Human Resource solutions. Ms Southwell has more than twenty years experience in this type of work and previously worked as a Senior Consultant with Watson Wyatt Worldwide, a global consulting firm. Ms Southwell was first appointed to the Board on 1 March 2006 and reappointed on 1 March 2009.

Ms Rose-Mary Farrell

Ms Farrell has a wealth of experience in Administration, Human Resources, Taxation and Finance and has held senior roles with a number of companies including the Imperial Hotel and Harp Ireland. She is a former member of Dundalk Town Council. She was appointed to the Board on 1 March 2009.

Mr David Graham OBE

Mr Graham is a Non Executive Director of the Irish Agricultural Wholesale Society Limited. He is Treasurer of Rural Support NI – a charitable organisation which supports farming families and rural communities in Northern Ireland – and he was a member of the Better Regulation Panel, set up by the DARD and DOE ministers. Mr Graham is a former Chief Executive of Fane Valley Co-operative Society Limited and a Fellow of the Royal Agricultural Societies. He was appointed to the Board on 1 March 2009.

Dr Adrian Johnston

Dr Johnston is an engineer with Seagate Technology (Ireland) where he identifies and implements collaborative research projects including large cross-border research initiatives. He is Chairman of Londonderry YMCA and has a strong interest in community, youth work and economic regeneration, particularly in the North West of Ireland. He was appointed to the Board on 1 March 2009.

Mr Winston Patterson

Mr Patterson is a founder member and present Chairman of Strabane Lifford Development Commission, a cross-community / cross-border group established in 1993 to encourage and facilitate development in the neighbouring towns of Lifford and Strabane. He is also Chairman of Lifford Development Company Ltd., a voluntary community-based development group formed in 1995 to carry out development works for the benefit of the residents of Lifford and its hinterland. He was appointed to the Board on 1 March 2009.
