Donors
The International Fund for Ireland is supported by the British and Irish Governments, the United States of America, the European Union, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
Representatives of the donors to the Fund attend the Fund’s Board meetings as Observers.
The Government of the United States of America
The United States has been a donor to the Fund since its inception. For twenty years we have supported the good work done by the Fund to promote social and economic advance in Northern Ireland and the border counties, and to encourage dialogue and reconciliation between nationalist and unionist communities.
The European Commission
The EU is fully committed to the peace and reconciliation process in Ireland and is proud to be associated with the work and achievements of the Fund, the impact of which will continue to benefit generations to come.
The Government of Canada
Since 1986, the International Fund has played a major role as a trusted, non-partisan banker and conciliator in Northern Ireland and the border counties. It has put ‘first money on the table’ for projects in deprived, strife-ridden areas, thereby bringing employment and hope, while at the same time working to bring reconciliation in place of hostility and sectarianism. The Fund has made a monumental contribution to the peace process.
The Government of Australia
The International Fund is to be congratulated for its contribution to achieving peace and reconciliation in Northern Ireland. The current situation could not have been reached without the tireless efforts of all those who have worked for and contributed to the Fund since its inception in 1986.
The Government of New Zealand
The Government of New Zealand has been a supporter of the International Fund for Ireland in its efforts to achieve lasting peace and prosperity in Northern Ireland and the border counties over the past twenty years.
