The International Fund for Ireland (IFI) has promoted economic and social advance and encouraged reconciliation between nationalists and unionists throughout Ireland since it was established as an independent, international organisation by the Irish and British
Governments in 1986. With contributions from the United States of America, the European Union, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, the total resources committed to the Fund to date amount to €849m, funding over 5,700 projects. The IFI now wishes to appoint a Development Officer to join the team of IFI Development Officers working in the six southern border counties.
Reporting to the Joint Director-General in the Dublin Office of the International Fund for Ireland, the incoming Development Officer will be able to develop and manage projects with a significant cross-border and cross-community focus.
A self-starter with a pro-active approach to the challenges of the position and the ability to develop a strong local network, the successful candidate will possess the drive and determination to identify, develop and support projects throughout their life-cycle. Exposure to the voluntary sector and a background in the socio-economic development of the border counties will be especially valued.
This is an exciting and challenging role providing an opportunity to contribute significantly to the achievement of the International Fund for Ireland’s strategic aims and objectives as set out in the strategic framework for action 2006-2010 ‘Sharing this Space’.
The post is based in Dundalk and will cover the Louth, Monaghan and east Cavan regions.
An attractive salary is on offer, based on a four day week. Other benefits include normal
office running costs and expenses.
