The Board of the International Fund for Ireland is appointed jointly by the British and Irish Governments. The EU and the Governments of the U.S, Canada, Australia and New Zealand are represented by Observers. The current Board members are:
Mr. Denis Rooney MBE, Chairman
Mr. Rooney is a former Chairman of White Young Green, consultants to the built, natural and environmental world and a former Chairman of the Institute of Directors in Northern Ireland. He has extensive experience in dealing with cross-community, cross-border issues in Northern Ireland and the border counties.
Mr. John McDaid, MBE, FCA
Mr. McDaid is a Derry based chartered accountant. His experience includes co-chairing the Project Board on Reinvestment & Reform Initiative for Northern Ireland’s Office of the First and Deputy First Minister, as well as participation in the Northern Ireland Chamber of Commerce & Industry, the Derry Investment Initiative and the Ulster Community Investment Trust.
Ms. Deirdre Ryan
Ms. Ryan was formerly Executive Director of Dundalk Chamber of Commerce. She has over fifteen years of management experience in the private sector and is regarded as a lead player in cross border business co-operation and linkages. She has also been involved in the Interreg IIIA Partnership Board, the EURES Cross Border Employment Partnership and the Louth County Development Board.
Ms. Anne Bonner
Ms. Bonner is the General Manager of Donegal Airport and has worked in the travel industry for over twenty years.
Mr. Jackie Hewitt
Mr. Hewitt is Manager of Farset/Inishowen and Border Counties Initiative. He was one of the founders of the Ainsworth Community Association and is Chairman of the Greater Shankhill Community Convention. His experience also includes board membership of the Community Relations Council for NI and the Belfast European Partnership Board.
Ms. Anne Henderson
Ms. Henderson is Vice Chair of the Northern Ireland Housing Executive. She is a former Director of Business Consultancy at BDO Stoy Hayward in Belfast. She has also worked previously as an international auditor for Time Warner Inc in Los Angeles and for KMPG in Belfast.
Ms. Mary Southwell
Ms. Southwell is an independent Human Resource Management Consultant based in Dublin. She works with a diverse range of clients and a wide variety of Human Resource solutions. Ms Southwell has twenty years "in house" experience and previously worked as a Senior Consultant with Watson Wyatt Worldwide, a global consulting firm.
